Best Practices in Social Movements and Policy Advocacy: 1960s-2026

Why are some social and political movements successful and others aren’t? “Best Practices” is a 90-minute for civic leaders, professionals, and graduate students who want to up their political advocacy game in a bipartisan way. We look at how progressives, centrists, and conservatives have built movements that powered political and policy victories. You can learn a lot from studying what all players do well and not so well, in the field of politics. Each issue is different, given the many variables to consider in moving it forward. But there is a general thru-line in many successful policy advocacy efforts. We discuss that recipe.
